Peter Pizzutillo, MD

| Peter D. Pizzutillo, M.D. completed his medical school training at Jefferson Medical College in 1970. His post graduate education was performed at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital from 1970-1975 with his internship year and his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon. Dr. Pizzutillo joined St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in 1995. His academic appointment is Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Pediatrics, Drexel University College of Medicine. Prior to joining the staff of St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, he was a staff physician and Director, Medical Education of Alfred I DuPont Institute from 1982 to 1986. Later joining the staff at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in 1986 until 1995 where he held position of Director of the Pediatric Section of the Orthopaedic Department. He also held the position of Professor of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Department of Pediatrics at Thomas Jefferson University. Upon joining St. Christopher’s, Dr. Pizzutillo has held the positions of President of Medical Staff from 2001-2003, Board of Governors, Leadership Counsel, OR Committee and has chaired the Bylaws Committee to name a few. He also nationally has been recognized as a leader in his field of practice. He has received such honors as American Orthopaedic Association, Distinguished Service Award for Orthopaedics from the American Academy of Pediatrics, Russell S. Hibbs Clinical Award from the Scoliosis Research Society. He has been named in Best Doctors in America, and Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare. |
