Christian Christensen, MD

Dr. Christensen graduated from Hamilton College with a B.A. in physics in 1988 and received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University in 1992. He performed an internship in general and thoracic surgery followed by orthopaedic surgery residency at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He then went to the New England Baptist Hospital and completed an adult reconstruction fellowship from 1998-1999. He then became the Head of Adult Reconstruction at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland from 1999-2003. He has been the Head of the Section of Joint Replacement at the Lexington Clinic in Lexington, KY since 2003. His research interests include accelerated rehabilitation following joint replacement, hip arthroplasty bearing surfaces, and the impact of obesity on surgical outcomes.
