A Nation in Motion: Ned Bryant.
Because of his orthopaedic care, he can zip up his coat and hold his mom’s hand. Ned was hospitalized for a week following a playground accident that resulted in a severe open fracture, vascular trauma and nerve damage. Ned lost mobility and sensation in his left hand. Four months later, Ned was hospitalized again and underwent a median nerve transplant. Now he’s back to dressing himself, buckling his seatbelt, riding his bike and enjoying the independence that is so vital to fostering a child’s self-esteem.
