The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons is proud to host the 2013 Annual Meeting — the world’s largest meeting of orthopaedic surgeons, researchers and allied health professionals — at McCormick Place in Chicago, March 19 – 23.

Our 2013 media program, as outlined in this press kit, offers the latest information on orthopaedic treatments, advancements and research breakthroughs. There are hundreds of lectures and presentations on a wide-array of consumer health topics, from sexual function and the return to life and work after joint replacement, to pediatric sports injury trends and the use of platelet rich plasma (PRP) to successfully treat tennis elbow.

In addition, two expert media roundtables will be held on Wednesday, March 20, in the Media Briefing Room, N132, at McCormick Place:

Also, a coffee with researcher Samuel Bederman, MD is scheduled for Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 9:45 am in the press room, N137. Dr. Bederman will answer questions from media about his findings on Assessing the Variation in Spinal Implant Costs at Major Medical Centers.

The AAOS Public Relations staff is available to set up interviews with presenters and study authors. We encourage you to call or email us at any time with questions or requests.

In addition, this press kit and other tools can help you to easily navigate the breaking news at this year’s meeting. Looking for Hot Topics?  AAOS Public Relations staff created a snapshot PDF to make crafting your stories a breeze. Trying to decide what to cover each day of the meeting?
