Stephen C. Weber, MD


Dr. Weber did his undergraduate training and medical school training at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and his residency at University of California at Davis.   He then traveled to Basel, Switzerland as the recipient of the McDaniel’s Award for the outstanding American orthopedic resident selected by the Swiss fracture study group for orthopedic studies, followed by an arthroscopy fellowship with one of the pioneers in shoulder arthroscopy, Dr. Richard Caspari.  He has been in private practice since 1986.  Arthroscopic and open reconstruction of the shoulder and knee has been a clinical and research interest since this time, with the experience of more than 7,000 arthroscopic shoulder reconstructions and more than 800 shoulder arthroplasties.  He has made more than 320 national and international presentations regarding shoulder research in the last two decades, with over 120 published papers and abstracts.  Honors have included three nominations for the Neer award for outstanding clinical research by the American Shoulder and Elbow Society, as well as overseas honors, including invitations to be the keynote speaker for the South American Shoulder and Elbow Society and the inaugural speaker for the Peruvian Shoulder and Elbow Society.  He is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the American Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, the American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine and the International Arthroscopy Society. Dr. Weber is a past team physician for the University of California at Davis, as well as current team physician for Sacramento City College and the Sacramento Capitals tennis team.
