Dr. Shea currently practices at Intermountain Orthopaedics in Boise, Idaho. He also is an adjunct associate clinical professor in the department of orthopaedics at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City. Dr. Shea graduated from the UCLA School of Medicine in Los Angeles and completed an orthopaedic residency at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He has completed four fellowships:
pediatric orthopedics and scoliosis at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego; orthopedic trauma in Bern, Switzerland; the Ilizarov Fellowship in Lecco, Italy; and a sports medicine traveling fellowship in Mexico and multiple countries in South America. In addition to being active in the Academy, Dr. Shea also is a member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, the Scoliosis Research Society and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. He has authored more than 110 scientific papers, book chapters and presentations.
