Dr. Sawyer currently is the attending surgeon at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., and the chief of prediatric orthopaedics at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center in Memphis. He also is an assistant professor of orthopaedics and director of the pediatric orthopaedic fellowship at the University of Tennessee-Campbell Clinic in Memphis. Dr. Sawyer graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, N.Y., and completed an orthopaedic residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and a pediatric orthopaedic fellowship at the Campbell Clinic. In addition to being active in the Academy, Dr. Shea also is a member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, the Scoliosis Research Society and the American Orthopaedic Association. He has authored more than 90 scientific papers, book chapters and presentations.
