James D. Capozzi, M.D

James D. Capozzi, M.D. is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with specialty training in joint replacement surgery. After receiving his Bachelors degree from Columbia University and medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine,  Dr. Capozzi completed his orthopedic training at Mount Sinai Hospital and the Otto Aufranc Adult Reconstructive Fellowship at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. In addition to performing hip and knee replacements, Dr. Capozzi specializes in difficult revision surgery utilizing the newest techniques including partial knee replacements, minimal incision surgery, and surface hip replacements.

Dr. Capozzi is an associate clinical professor of orthopedic surgery at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He also specializes in the care of elderly patients with fractures.
Dr. Capozzi is the editor for the Ethics in Practice section of the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. He is also chairman of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Ethics Committee. Dr. Capozzi has published a book  on the Psalms entitled Beside Quiet Waters.
