Leonid (Arieh) Kandel, MD

Born in Moscow, USSR.
Since 1977 in Jerusalem, Israel.

Orthopedic surgeon at Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center, with special interest in hip and knee arthroplasties, geriatric orthopedics and clinical research.
Received his MD degree at Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel.
Completed his orthopedic residency at the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center.
Fellowship in hip and knee arthroplasty at the St George Hospital, Sydney, Australia under supervision of Professor Ron Sekel.
Have presented at multiple national and international meetings on varied topics related to hip and knee arthroplasty and geriatric orthopedics.
Current research interests: outcomes of hip and knee arthroplasties and the connection between personality factors and treatment outcome.
Serves on several committee appointments in the Israeli Orthopedic Association.
Resides with his wife, psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Sarah Kandel-Katzenelson, his daughters Shani and Michal, and his son Tomer in Jerusalem.
